The new 2,600-square- foot home replaces a one- story, single-wall structure on the 5,000-square-foot lot and provides the family with approximately 80% more liv- ing space. Upstairs are three bedrooms sharing a full bath- room and a complete master bedroom with walk-in closet and bath. On the first floor are a large custom kitchen that opens to the main living area, a powder room and laundry area with access to the backyard. A 3-foot re- taining wall was built around the back of the property in order to flatten the slope of the lot. A special feature of the project is a two-car cov- ered porte cochere in front
and paved drive with space for two more vehicles, an im- portant addition due to the limited street parking in this densely developed part of the neighborhood. Accord- ing to Homeworks president and chief of field operations Sylvio Boucher, who handled demolition of the original house last October, the new home is scheduled for com- pletion this April.
