Remodeled bath: A great gift
For a holiday gift that will please the whole family, consider a bath-
room renovation, or perhaps simply adding a new walk-in shower.
“We are currently offering free in-home consultations for homeowners who want to schedule an installation for the new year. This is a good time to start planning ... and the entire family may wish to participate in the conference to select the fix- tures and accessories,” says Tropical Plumbing and Bath president Charlie Beeck, a Building Industry Associa- tion “Remodeler of the Year.”
Beeck says interested homeowners may contact the Tropical Plumbing and Bath office at 808-847-0970 at any time throughout the holiday season to set up an appointment for the consul- tation. He adds that a $1,500 discount is offered on all in- stallations.
“Before starting the se- lection and design process, the first step is to acquaint our remodeler with the project area. If a complete renovation is called for, chances are the homeown- er already has a good idea of what they will want up- graded or replaced. The op- tions will generally include the shower and other fix- tures as well as countertops, cabinets, and finishes ... all of which will be laid out in the design plan. We assist with budgeting and set up a work schedule that accom- modates family members.”
Beeck notes that walk- in showers are Tropical Plumbing and Bath’s most popular single fixture instal- lation, usually replacing an old-fashioned stall shower or bathtub.
“All our walk-in showers are customized to the home- owner’s specifications,” he
says. “Our remodeler reviews all the options in features and accessories that can be in- corporated into the shower based on household needs and the space available.”
Some of these options include shower sprays, both overhead rain shower and hand-held styles with spray intensity varying from gentle to massage, seats, grab bars, compartments for soaps and shampoos, and non-slip flooring; wheelchair accessi- ble designs can be specified.
Walk-in bathtubs are also a specialty of Tropical Plumbing and Bath. Beeck introduced walk-in bathtubs in Hawaii more than a decade ago and has installed them in homes and apartments throughout Oahu, as well as at Kuakini Medical Center. As walk-in bathtubs gain in popularity, new styles, sizes and accessories become available.
