The Hawaiian koa hard- wood has been trea- sured for hundreds of
years by the Hawaiians. It has been used for anything from canoes, paddles, boxes, fur- niture, ukuleles and flooring. Due to the scarcity and high cost of this hardwood, it is rarely ever used for flooring today.
