For one of the company’s major renovation projects, a new client wanted to change the look of the house they have lived in for decades.
With new design trends and energy efficiency con- cepts, they couldn’t de- cide whether to do a major renovation or a new build. Kai Ridge Hawaii’s project manager spent months to find out their needs and the design concept they liked. The client decided to do a major renovation, since the turnaround time would be enhanced by using the ex- isting structure. Kai Ridge Hawaii offered a design concept, and worked with architect to refine the detail of the plans.
Kai Ridge Hawaii’s rec- ommended designs have always been about balanc- ing design trends with func- tionalism from a builder’s perspective. The company’s project manager advised the clients to change the layout of the existing house, espe- cially the living and kitchen area.
Maximizing both areas significantly enhanced the overall look of the house. Kai Ridge Hawaii designed the living room with an open window area and contemporary interior fin- ish, incorporating the best view and a modern lifestyle. The company also designed the kitchen area with open space — it magnifies the area of the existing house. For the exterior, with Kai Ridge Hawaii’s help, the clients decided to have a combination of James Har- die board, metal siding and
