It’s 2024, and lead paint has been outlawed in Hawaii since 1978. However, 44% of all homes have lead paint. This is very dangerous, especially for children under 6 but also for all other ages, even adults. What is the answer? There are many ways to deal with lead, such as abatement, encasement, etc.

First, as a homeowner, you need a certified lead contractor. This is very important because fines start at $37,500 per violation if you are not in compliance. So, the best way is to get it right the first time.

Encase that lead paint with either vinyl siding or vinyl paint. This is the most cost-effective way to solve a lead paint issue.
