Inspired by a modernism architectural style, the design concept is derived from simplicity, contemporary but luxury and in harmony with the surrounding nature. On the exterior, the house structural shape’s solid wood and stucco generates its unique characteristic. The casement windows throughout the house adds the accent to the exterior shape.

The grand entry with 14-foothigh ceilings shows the beauty of the living area. Custom ceiling-high cabinets within an open kitchen layout contribute to its modern and minimalist design. The sustainable cabinet material, self-closing doors and drawers are central features for this high-end kitchen design. A unique and eye-catching full back-splash accent wall personalizes the kitchen, giving it character and charm. The waterfall island embodies simplistic design trends and offers a casual space to dine, in addition to having extra storage and countertop space.

The design also includes smart and energy efficient home features, such as split air conditioning units throughout the house, and smart kitchen appliances and a security system. The location of front doors is also based on the direction of the trade winds to increase energy efficiency.

The second floor was designed to maximize the view of Diamond Head. The solid wood along the entire second floor brings a distinctive and luxurious appearance. Flat panel vanities and a floating shower bench create a spa-like feeling for the second master bathroom.

With all the detailed work to incorporate the homeowner’s needs and wants, the clients were left extremely thrilled by this design-built house.
