One-stop shop offers stress-free renovations
As 2023 comes to a close, Rui Construction and Building Supply Inc. welcomes in the new year with some exciting changes.
The locally owned and operated company is restructuring, changing the name of its building supply business to R & B Building Supply, and expanding to Seattle.
Known for its extensive offering of construction and home improvement products, the company recently renovated its showroom on Sand Island Access Road, where customers will find an array of fixtures and building materials, including cabinets, cupboards, vanities, countertops, faucets, sinks, showers and tubs, toilets, towel racks, a variety of flooring options, and contemporary LED lights, including chandelier lighting. There’s also an ongoing sale on different types of cabinets, as well as a clearance sale on flooring tiles.
“It’s a whole new look with the showroom,” shares Jon Xie, manager of R & B Building Supply. “We’re about 80% finished. We’re still waiting to install some new styles of cabinets, it should be finished after the holidays. We’re also updating our inventory, selling similar stuff but also bringing in new trends. Please feel free to come check us out.”
As for what’s trending, Xie notes that every client has their own style and preference, but that a lot of people have been going with white and gray for color scheme.
R & B Building Supply’s sister company Rui Construction remains the same, providing new construction and remodeling services, big or small. Whether updating a commercial space or building a dream home, customers can count on Rui Construction to be there from beginning to end, while R & B Building Supply is literally right at their side for all the finishing touches.
“We’re a one-stop shop,” Xie says.
“We also subcontract licensed plumbers and electricians.”
Company co-founder Xiao Rui “Ray” Xie (Jon’s dad), has been working in the construction industry for a quarter of a century, starting in Singapore before immigrating to the United States. He moved to Hawaii in the late 1990s, working as a general contractor. He quickly became known in the community for his speed and quality work, and started his own company Rui Construction in 2000. A couple of years later, he added the building supply business as a secondary company to complement the construction side, which has made the building process even more convenient for not just their team, but more importantly, their clients.
Rui Construction already provides construction services in Seattle, while R & B Building Supply will be opening a shop there soon (next to Westfield Southcenter, near the airport). The new name is the initials for Ray and his brother, Bill, who owns and operates over a dozen restaurants in Seattle and Nevada.
