A new custom home by Homeworks Construction is underway on a 5,000-square-foot cleared lot in the Diamond Head area.

Homeworks president and chief administrative officer Marshall Hickox said the company architects and design specialists worked in close collaboration with the owner to deliver the “custom home of their dreams.” “The initial concept of the owner did not work on the lot so we created a new plan that met the strict guidelines of the special district, as well as the new tougher building codes recently enacted,” Hickox said.

The new two-story home with approximately 4,420 interior square feet replaces the one-story home that previously occupied the site. The second floor will include an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) built out over a twocar garage with direct entry into the home.

Hickox said completion is anticipated in approximately 12 months.

Demolition of the owner’s previous 50-year-old home was handled by Homeworks president and chief of operations Sylvio Boucher (see photo), who continues to supervise site work. “We are currently preparing the site for the new foundation and an inground swimming pool with a waterfall and spa in the back yard,” he said. “A 600-square-foot covered lanai with a bar area and bathroom as well as a craft-room will also be located in this area. Lava rock tiles will cover the existing CMU wall around the whole backyard. The front yard will be enclosed with a rock wall with a sliding privacy gate. New trees will be planted in both the front and back yards at the end of construction.”
