Homeworks Construction has been recognized for excellence in new custom home building and remodeling with numerous awards over the years, including a “Hawaii’s Best” by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser, “Remodeler of the Year” by the Building Industry Association of Hawaii (BIA-Hawaii), and multiple wins in the BIA-Hawaii Renaissance and Parade of Homes. The design/build firm also has been ranked among the nation’s Top 500 Remodelers by Qualified Remodeler Magazine for the past 15 years.

Founded by Byxbee 24 years ago in Honolulu, Homeworks has completed approximately 1,000 projects, including new custom homes, renovations, additions, and kitchens and baths, in neighborhoods throughout Oahu. The company’s projects range from small single-family homes built on a budget to luxury estates on the coast and in the heights. The company has been a leader in design and construction of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) since legislation enabling the development of these specialized structures was enacted two years ago.

Byxbee noted that the Homeworks team of project coordinators, designers and builders work with the clients through the entire process including budgeting, concept and architectural plans; permits, selections and final finishes. If an existing home is being replaced by a new build, Homeworks will handle the demolition and clearing of the property. He pointed out that the company lives up to its long-time slogan, “All design and construction services under one roof.”

“Every phase of the job is covered by advance documentation and the final contract,” Byxbee said. “We meet regularly with the client both at the job site and our offices and showroom. Special concerns such as aging in place and energy efficiency can be addressed by staff members with specialized training in these fields.
