Graham Builders has long been a trailblazer in Hawaii’s residential design+build industry. Since 1989, founder and CEO Danny Graham has held lofty goals for his family-owned and operated firm. Early on, Graham recognized the need for multi-general design and then established Graham Builders as a leader in building, renovating, and remodeling homes for aging-in-place and universal design.
Holding a strong conviction for best-quality work and practices, as well as excellent customer service, Graham developed the “Building Your Home For Life” seminar in 1994. Through the informative seminar, Graham has guided more than 5,000 homeowners through the design+build process to show how Graham Builders fuses creative design with experienced construction talent to build homes that last for generations.
Focus on Family
While the company’s collaborative design+build process focuses on the needs of homeowners and their families, Graham also believes that a healthy Graham Builders family promotes a holistic, effective and efficient work environment.
Leading the expert team of architectural designers and construction professionals are, President Evan Fujimoto, Vice President of Operations and Danny’s son, Ryan Graham, Chief Financial Officer Faith Yamagishi and Office Manager Renee Lee.
Ryan Graham, a Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist (CAPS) and Certified Green Professional, works alongside his father to ensure that the homes they build last a lifetime, so too, will Graham Builders, as it is passed from father to son. Ryan has held many positions at the family-run company since his youth, and was an estimator before taking the reigns as vice president of operations. Currently, Ryan is focused on company organization and structure to enhance efficiencies that will maximize the value for each homeowner that works with Graham. He’s also tasked with materials development and internal education; in other words, finding the best possible building materials at the best prices.
“Ryan brings continuity to the company,” said Danny Graham. “We will continue to the next generation because Ryan produces a disciplined approach to working with internal processes and systems.”
“We need to be at maximum efficiency and firing on all cylinders to implement new procedures,” Fujimoto explained. “Ryan is really pushing consistency and negotiating with vendors to get value pricing on all the new products hitting the market. His internal education program is ultimately a service to homeowners, so we can provide more options to our clients.”
“The bottom line is about servicing the clients,” said Ryan Graham. “Our return is word of mouth, when people talk about us in a good way.”
Award-winning ethics
In addition to quality homes built for longevity, Danny Graham promotes ethics and service within Graham Builders. Winner of the BBB Torch Award for Ethics in 2007, the first builder to receive the coveted distinction, Graham Builders demonstrates a commitment to integrity through its community service. For the past 15 years, Graham Builders has hosted the annual Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation holiday party at the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. And in 2011, Graham Builders was honored by the State of Hawaii as one of Hawaii’s Outstanding Advocates for Children and Youth.
