Part two of a three-part series

A new custom , multi-generational home in Aiea Heights designed and built by Homeworks Construction is nearing completion on the site as the new year begins. Demolition of the original family home on the property was completed in April. Project Coordinator Kim Green said the family worked closely with the Homeworks team from early planning stages to final finishes.

“The site was challenging due to the slope,” Green said. “But we were able to take advantage of that slope to create a multi-level layout with retaining walls and parking entry at the back of the property, which actually faces two streets.

“The home has entrances on two levels, which is ideal for a multi-generational home. The one at the front of the house opens to the lower level, which is occupied by the younger family members and includes a bedroom, two baths, a study and media room that can be utilized as an additional bedroom space. The upper level, which is entered from an enclosed walkway adjacent to the carport, is the location of the great room with a custom kitchen and dining area, and a master bedroom/bath suite.

“The carport can accommodate two cars and the wide driveway, two more. The main entry, as well as an outdoor lanai and dining area at the rear of the house, are in the final stages of construction.

“Due to its positioning on the corner site, the home enjoys multiple views out over the neighborhood and receives cool breezes on both levels,” Green added.
