At last weekend’s Smart Home seminar at the RevoluSun Innovation Center, a packed house of more than 50 homeowners in attendance were asked, “How many of you have a skylight in your home?” About two-thirds of the room raised their hands. Next, the questioned were asked, “Does your skylight open?” About half of the same people raised their hands, and then the questioned were asked, “How many of you actually open your skylights?” There were no hands raised. Why should you take note of this?

Skylights — if designed and properly used — should not only provide natural light for your home, but also provide cooling and ventilation as well. ” We are finding that the majority of homeowners choose not to open their skylights because it’s either a hassle or they are worried about having to be home to close their skylights in case of bad weather,” said Eric Carlson of RevoluSun. “What we are offering is a solution to both of these problems. Not only are our skylights easy to operate, they are built with ‘Smart’ technology giving homeowners piece of mind.”
