It is not something people often think about, but one of the greatest things a person can have is a brand new roof on their home. A partnership between West Oahu Roofing Inc. (WOR) and Habitat for Humanity Leeward Oahu (HHLO) has made this possible for several local families in need, helping to turn their dreams into reality.

Jo Bautista, HHLO executive director, and Bernard Balais, WOR owner, began discussing a potential partnership at their first meeting. Bautista shared, “I explained that we needed help on our building projects, especially because we only had volunteers to put on the roof. My concern was safety.”

What began as an idea transformed into the product you can always expect from WOR. “Quality workmanship and effort by the WOR roofing team is excellent! In addition to being extremely hard workers, the roofers are fast, not to mention very courteous and friendly. The caring attention we received goes beyond superb customer service. I consider them special people who reflect a true understanding of the Habitat mission,” said Bautista.

You can expect WOR to go above and beyond for its customers, but the company also believes in giving back to the community and helping those who are less fortunate. Bautista said, “Without a doubt, our families are very happy to know that they have a home and a roof over their heads. These families have never owned a home before. This is their first, and will probably be their last. Our families are truly grateful for all that are being done for them by HHLO and WOR.”
