Carpeting, paint and even the materials used in your shower might contain harmful Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs), which some people may experience negative reactions to breathing in these compounds. New technology has helped home improvement companies create products that don’t contain VOCs. Be sure to look for these products.


• The walls. Many paint companies are now producing VOC-free paints, which can help improve the air quality in the room.
