The Building Industry Association of Hawaii (BIA-Hawaii) welcomes a new slate of officers for 2012.

Dean Asahina is the new president and guides the leadership team of president-elect Greg Thielen, Complete Construction Services Corp.; vice president Brian Adachi, BKA Builders Inc.; secretary Michael Brant, Gentry Homes Ltd.; treasurer Timothy Waite, Simpson Strong Tie Co Inc.; special appointee-builder Paul Silen, Hawaiian Dredging Construction Co. Inc.; special appointee-associate Craig Washofsky, Servco Home & Appliance Distribution; immediate past president James Byxbee, Homeworks Construction Inc.; and executive vice president and chief executive officer of BIA-Hawaii Karen Nakamura.

Asahina is the president of Universal Construction Inc. He will lead the incoming 2012 board made up of the following members: Scotty Anderson, Pacific Rim Partners; W. Bruce Barrett, Castle & Cooke Homes Hawaii Inc.; David Chang,

Chartered in 1955, the Building Industry Association of Hawaii is a professional trade organization affiliated with the National Association of Home Builders, representing the building industry and its associates. The 500 members of BIA-Hawaii are developers, contractors, suppliers, Realtors, architects, financial institutions and a host of other professionals who serve the building industry. BIA-Hawaii takes a leadership role in unifying and promoting the interests of the industry to enhance the quality of life for the people of Hawaii.
