Takasaki: A Solar Energy Consultant Extraordinaire

Passion for his product is what solar energy consultant Akio Takasaki has.
Born and raised in Japan, Takasaki immigrated to the United States at age 27, unable to speak a word of English. Before leaving his native homeland, however, Takasaki worked for Asahi Solar, one of Japan’s largest solar companies.
Today, he marks 13 years with Alternate Energy Hawaii. He is now considered one of the Hawaii solar industry’s most seasoned sales professionals, responsible for the installation of an estimated 2,000 solar modules for local families.
What does Takasaki say about his track record? “It’s easy to have passion for your product when you have a good product. I’ve known Alternate Energy owner and founder Bruce Ekimura for 20 years. He’s been working in the Hawaii solar industry since 1972. He insists on using solar panels from the world’s most respected manufacturers, like Mitsubishi. He employs all his installers, not subcontracting the work out. That means I can talk to customers with complete assurance that they are getting the best solar product and the best service money can buy.”
Alternate Energy Inc. was founded in 1993 and is one of Hawaii’s first solar energy companies, specializing in the design and installation of photovoltaic systems, solar water heating systems and solar attic fans.
