Upgrading your shower with a new ‘glass’ act
Hawaii Glass Block will host a free workshop to show you how you can remove your old bathtub or shower, replace it with the wedi® 100-percent Waterproof Shower System and add a glass block wall so you can eliminate a shower door or shower curtain.
The free workshop will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at the Hawaii Glass Block showroom and warehouse located at 284 Kalihi St.
The wedi® Fundo Total Shower Solution is the industry’s innovative application for constructing waterproof, tiled showers. With its un-complicated assembly process and ability to be tiled the same day, the system installs quickly and efficiently, reducing substrate preparedness from days to hours.
The wedi® System is in stock at Hawaii Glass Block — the Fundo bases easily can be cut to size or extended using pre-sloped extension panels to fit any custom shower application. Additionally, with being up to 80 percent lighter than conventional shower methods, the wedi® system can be installed without threatening a building’s structural properties. The extruded polystyrene products are used to support ENERGY STAR-qualifying construction.
Topics that will be covered include why and how one should install the system, finding out whether one has enough room for the system and more. Homeowners that are considering a bathroom remodel, do-it-yourselfers, handymen and contractors all are encouraged to attend.
The company will show you how easy it is to build a glass-block panel using its “stack-and-grout” method or how it can prefab a wall for you to easily install. A glass-block panel allows natural daylight into your home for a positive energy flow.
