With one new custom home nearing com- pletion and two in various stages of construction, Homeworks Construction has re- cently demolished a 73-year-old St. Louis Heights home to make way for another on-site rebuild.
All four of the homes replace the residences of long-time own- ers. Each is customized by the Homeworks design team to serve the needs and reflect the lifestyle of multigenerational families and include accessory dwelling units (ADUs).
Homeworks president and chief of field operations Sylvio Bouch- er, who handled demolition of the structures, says the 7,860-square- foot lot is well located midway up the hill and provides ample space for the new house, ADU, separate garage and carport.
“We had to come up with a creative design plan to separate the main house from the garage due to a 10-foot storm drain ease- ment crossing the lot diagonally. Because of the corner location, elevation varies over 10 feet from the top of the property to the street,” Boucher says.
The two-story house that will be built on the lot provides 2,830 square feet of interior liv- ing space, plus a 194-square-foot covered lanai on the top floor with a 180-degree view of the ocean and Diamond Head. An 800-square-foot accessory dwell- ing unit will be located at ground level. The property will include ample parking with a 540-square- foot garage and two-stall carport plus six additional spaces.
