NEVER USE ANY HARD CHEMICALS
Chemicals that are too aggressive can remove the ARC coating on your pan- els. This coating increases the efficiency of your solar panels. Using the wrong chemicals can also void the production warranty from your solar manufacturer.
NEVER USE TAP WATER
It is recommended to only use filtered water; using normal tap water will leave calcium and other minerals (hard water) on the glass of the panel and decrease the efficiency of the solar panel, and is expensive to remove.
NEVER WALK ON THE SOLAR PANELS
Anyone cleaning a solar panel should have a tele- scopic pole that can reach any part of the solar system without needing to walk on them.
Walking on the solar pan- els can be a safety hazard and it can cause micro- fractures in the solar cells that can cause permanent damage to the solar panel.
SYSTEM INSPECTIONS
Most professional solar panel cleaning companies will offer an inspection with cleaning, which ensures your system is working and can suggest any preventive main- tenance. Most homeowners
and people not specialized in solar panel cleaning lack the knowledge or have the spe- cialized equipment to inspect the system.
