“It’s a hidden walk-in storage pantry!” says Jon Xie, manager of Rui Build- ing Supply, the construc- tion company’s sister firm. “From the outside it looks like cabinets, but when you
open the door, it leads into a walk-in storage space, just behind the kitchen wall. It was a pretty unique addi- tion to the house.”

“We tore the old house down to the foundation, and built the new house from the
ground up,” says Xie. “There were some delays with sup- ply chains, but we managed to get it done within six or seven months.”
