Hawaii Glass Block will host a free workshop to show you how you can remove your old bathtub or shower, replace it with the wedi® 100 percent Waterproof Shower System and add a glass-block wall so you can eliminate a shower door or shower curtain.

The free workshop will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Hawaii Glass Block showroom and warehouse located at 284 Kalihi St.

The wedi® Fundo Total Shower Solution is the industry’s innovative application for constructing waterproof-tiled showers. With its uncomplicated assembly process and the ability to be tiled that same day, the system is quick and efficient.

The wedi® system is in stock at Hawaii Glass Block and the Fundo bases can be easily cut to size or extended using pre-sloped extension panels to fit any custom shower application. Since the wedi® system is 80 percent lighter than conventional shower methods, it can be installed without threatening a building’s structural properties. The wedi® extruded polystyrene products are used to support Energy Star-qualifying construction.

Topics that will be covered at the workshop include:

• Why should I use the wedi® system?

• Do I have room for a Glass Block wall panel?

• Is Glass Block difficult to install?

Who should attend:

• Homeowners considering a bathroom remodel
• Do-it-Yourselfers
• Handypersons
• Contractors

The company will have a featured contractor who will discuss why they use the wedi® system. Hawaii Glass Block will also show you how easy it is to build a glass block panel using its “Stack & Grout” method, or how the company can prefabricate a wall for you to easily install. Along with practicality, a glass block panel is aesthetically pleasing, and can allow for natural light to enter your home for a positive energy flow.
