The Building Industry Association of Hawaii (BIA-Hawaii) will present the 55th Annual BIA Parade of Homes during the Open House Weekends of Oct. 8-9 and Oct. 15-16.
This premier statewide showcase of new homes in Hawaii will educate consumers on the latest trends, technology and design innovations in residential construction.
The 2011 BIA Parade of Homes theme is “Sustainable Lifestyle…Sustainable Homes” and the final deadline for all entries is July 18.
Developers and projects that will be featured in the October Open House Weekends include:
- Castle & Cooke Homes Hawaii Inc. “Kealakai at Kapolei”
- DR Horton, Schuler Homes “LaHiki at Mehana-Plan 3,” “Makalae at Sea Country-Pawa Model” and “Pulewa at Mehana-Plan B”
- Gentry Homes, Ltd. “Plan 1-Aheahe Trades by Gentry,” “Plan 4-Olu‘olu Trades by Gentry” and “Plan A-Haiku Haleakea by Gentry”
- Towne Development of Hawaii Inc. will present “Haku Model, Milo Court at Kehalani” in Wailuku
- Franciscan Vistas and Ilima at Laihano will represent Senior Living communities.
Entrant categories include single-family and multi-family homes, town homes, high rises, builder spec homes, units in senior living, vacation ownership projects and conversions. The 2011 Parade will also include the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Green Building Standards for residential construction.
The 55th Annual BIA Parade of Homes Awards Gala, to announce the award winning entrants and the 2011 Grand Champion, will be held Oct. 4 at The Royal Hawaiian Hotel.
