With today’s current water standards, the term “high-efficiency” toilet often brings to mind a rather inefficient flush. The Bathroom Store understands that to be truly high-efficient, a product must not only conserve water, but work effectively. TOTO has always been a pioneer in water conservation, and uses extensive research and design to ensure a powerful flush.

In 1987, a 1.6 gallon-per-flush (GPF) legislation was passed in Massachusetts, giving manufacturers two years to comply. Most manufacturers simply reduced the size of their tanks, which resulted in poor performance and multiple flushes. TOTO had already optimized the performance of its toilets, since they had been designing and developing low-volume flushing systems for decades. In fact, their rigorous flushing tests are more extensive than current industry standards, so they can ensure outstanding one-flush performance and true water savings.

Replacing older, larger-use toilets with newer models can result in significant water and sewer savings. If you replace a 3.5or 5-GPF toilet with a 1.6-GPF toilet, you can save about 9,740 to 17,300 gallons of water per year. It’s a myth that more water will make a toilet work better. Today’s high-efficiency toilets use less water than ever, yet outperform many of the older, water-guzzling toilets.

Further research and development brought forth the 1.6-gallon Cyclone toilet, which in turn gave life to the 1.28 Double Cyclone Flushing System. Like a cyclone in nature, the Double Cyclone Flushing System harnesses the power of water and gravity to create a more powerful 1.28 GPF, which maximizes cleaning action.

The Bathroom Store is proud to be the first in Hawaii to introduce the new TOTO Drake II 1G. This product is the Industry’s first 1 GPF ultra high-efficiency toilet that offers the company’s state-of-the art Double Cyclone Flushing System. The new gravity-fed, two-piece 1G Double Cyclone marries flawless performance and exceptional bowl-cleansing action to give ultra high-efficiency water-savings (35 percent compared to 1.6 GPF toilets), creating a clean, green flushing system that saves money, water and time.

The 1G’s bowl and concave rim are coated with SanaGloss, TOTO’s nano-technology glaze that seals its porcelain with an ionized barrier, creating a super-slippery, non-porous surface. The 1G utilizes two nozzles instead of rim holes that use water more efficiently for better rim and bowl cleansing. All of these features are beautifully wrapped together in an ADA-approved, comfort-height toilet.
