When you call Murakami Roofing for a free roof inspection, the next step is a meeting with one of our professional roof estimators. They will perform a thorough roof inspection that includes evaluating the condition of the roof from outside and inside of the house.
We asked our roofing pros to share common situations they see during inspections.
WHAT DO YOU NOTICE FIRST?
Most seen is wear and tear on the roof. Roofs have a normal life expectancy of 12-40 years depending on what type of roofing system you have and what area you live. Years of wind and rain alternating with sun exposure may cause the layers of the roof to expand and contract. After a while, instead of going with the flow, the roof may weaken and not be safe and sound and may not be watertight.
WOULD YOU SUGGEST A HOMEOWNER GO ON TOP OF THEIR ROOF TO MAKE REPAIRS?
Repairing a roof is more than nailing a board on the spot where you think it’s leaking, or stapling it down with a consumer-grade staple gun or glue. Murakami Roofing uses professional-grade materials that are made to withstand Hawaii’s weather conditions.
Sometimes, where you see puddling or drips on a ceiling is not necessarily where the damage to the roof is located. Now and then, customers make do-ityourself patches, but where they patch may not be where the source of the leak is. Instead, that area may be where the water from the leak flowed to, and then puddled. Also, we don’t recommend people walking on their roofs. Walking on the weak portions could have disastrous consequences.
WHAT IS THE BEST SOLUTION?
Leave the roof walking and repair to Murakami Roofing. Our slogan is “Building confidence into every roof.” We want our customers to feel like they do not have to worry about their roof at all when it’s windy, or wait for a leak when it rains. Best of all, we have a warranty for our workmanship. We honor our commitments, because that’s how we do business with customers who become our friends and who we consider family.
