“When we install one of our custom-designed showers as a single fixture, usually replacing an old-fashioned stall shower or bathtub, or as part of a complete bathroom renovation, we first interview the client in their home and assess the space. Then we review the accessories, features and finishes they’ve chosen, and put it all together to create the “perfect shower.”
Options include a variety of sprays, which may be overhead, rainshower or hand-held with varying intensities ranging from gentle to massage, seating, compartments for soaps and shampoos, grab bars, non slip floors, and tile and travertine finishes. Extra-wide, barrier-free models can be specified for wheelchair accessibility.
Age-friendly designs are a specialty of Tropical Plumbing and Bath, which pioneered the introduction of walk-in bathtubs in Hawaii two decades ago and installed them in senior living facilities for men and women at Kuakini Medical Center.
