When Danny Graham opened Graham Builders in 1990, he was already a successful businessman who owned a realty company and water purification business. An energetic visionary, Graham was a McKinley High graduate who had served in the Navy. He believed he knew how to design and build quality homes that would last for generations.
Three decades and hundreds of projects later, the team at Graham Builders has proven his vision to be spot-on. As the company prepares to celebrate its 30th anniversary, clients and associates share their memories and appreciation.
PEACE OF MIND
Bob and Molly Wilkinson, East Honolulu homeowners: “Bob and I entered our remodel with hesitancy and fear, having heard many horror stories from others about their experiences in the construction world. Our experience was nothing of the kind. We felt heard and cared for from beginning to end.”
Bruce and Karen Miyoda, Manoa homeowners: “The thought of financing, designing, and building was very daunting. But Graham Builders’ range of experience and access to the teams to get the job done made it much easier to accomplish. They knew how to manage the whole project and build in a way that helped us feel taken care of.”
Rudy and Celeste Alejo, Ewa Beach homeowners: “The team held our hands through the jungle of permits and paperwork. The crew worked diligently, professionally and carefully.”
Kathie Taitano, Kailua homeowner: “The true value in using Graham Builders was the peace of mind and trust in the work being done. I don’t think you can put a price tag on that.”
Bradley Chang, appraiser vice-president, Territorial Savings Bank: “Companies with a long history of integrity do things the right way instead of guessing or taking short cuts. It’s difficult to change something after it has been built. Graham Builders works patiently with their clients so the design is right from the beginning.”
Douglas and Corinne Kurth, Honolulu homeowners: “As an architect, I believe the design-build collaboration with Graham Builders resulted in a better (and faster) product than if I had produced the construction drawings myself and then put them out to bid.”
Janet and Richard Honda, Mililani homeowners: “Working with Ryan was just awesome. He wanted us to be happy with everything Graham Builders did. From day one we were telling our friends and relatives that we picked the right contractor.”
Howard Humphreys, former Ewa Beach homeowner: “Graham Builders’ design technique with its open kitchen/living room concept and high ceiling flowed well together. We also appreciated their foresight with the garage design. It was devised so we could build up in the event our parents or kids needed to move in with us at a later date.
The Humphreys: “When it came time to sell, we were able to command the highest price in the neighborhood. Interested buyers couldn’t believe how nice our home was!”
The Alejos: “Everyone who [visits] for the first time always says, ‘This home has a wonderful feeling!'”
The Hondas: “We are very pleased with the final outcome. Wow! It’s a show-stopper.”
Kathryn Cabacungan, Honolulu homeowner: “People stop by or leave notes at our front door. When I’m outside, I catch people gazing at the house. I like to think they find [it] a pleasant view while they are stuck in traffic.”
