When Family looking for a new home in Kahala couldn’t find quite the right property to suit their lifestyle, they decided to build and chose Homeworks Construction to make their vision a reality.
As a design/build firm with “all design and construction services under one roof ” for its slogan, Homeworks worked closely with the client on every phase of the project — from the demolition of the existing house to the construction and fi nish of a stylish new family home.
The 3,500-square-foot house occupies a 9,277-square-foot lot on a quiet tree-lined street in the heart of Kahala. Much of the original vegetation was retained, as well as, a large swimming pool, which was refinished by Homeworks.
Homeworks project coordinator Kim Green noted that one of the biggest design challenges was creating a cathedral ceiling look in major living spaces. The ceiling in the great room reaches more than 10 feet, giving the area a very spacious feeling and sense of openness. The master bedroom/ bath suite has its own lanai, breakfast nook and ramp to the swimming pool. Two additional bedroom/bath suites are on the opposite side of the house. Oversize glass doors, that enhance interior illumination, open to a covered lanai that overlooks the swimming pool.
Homeworks’ award-winning kitchen designer Sean Bradshaw created an elegant and functional kitchen that opens to the great room.
The new home was completed on schedule just eight months from demolition of the original structure, Green said.
