Homeworks Constr uction’s rebuild of a family home on the existing 11,500-square-foot lot increased living space by approximately 50 percent. All major living areas were opened up to views by the creative design plan of Homeworks architects, and numerous custom features were integrated into the new home. With 5 bedrooms, 4 baths, an office and a total of 3,500 square feet on two floors, usable interior living space is augmented by an expansive 600-square-foot deck on the lower level and a 115-square-foot deck on the upper entry level.

The large, open custom kitchen created by Homeworks kitchen designer Sean Bradshaw is located on the lower level together with the main living and dining areas, which flow to the 20by 30-foot covered deck.

An ideal space for entertaining and family gatherings, the deck overlooks the gardens and views of the countryside. Quality finishes include stainless steel KitchenAid appliances, solid wood Wellborn cabinets, and natural stone countertops. An elegant, custom designed staircase lit by a chandelier connects the two floors.

“The beautiful hard-wood floor was a part of the original house that we were able to retain,” explained project coordinator Kim Green CGP. “No one knew it was there until we pulled up the old vinyl flooring. Homeworks not only restored the floor, but installed matching wood in areas that were beyond repair. We were able to retain some of the existing framing and carport, but wiring, plumbing, roofing, siding and all exterior finishes are new. The owners worked closely with Homeworks project manager Caleb Brittain and finishes specialist Elise Grable to ensure that every detail fulfilled their vision for their new home.”
