Equipped for the Job

Alternate Energy Inc. has just achieved Mitsubishi Electric Certified Installer status. It is the only photovoltaic (PV) company in Hawaii — in fact, in the entire nation — to do so.

This fall, several Mitsubishi representatives made the trip to Hawaii to visit Alternate Energy job sites in progress all over the island.

Once the inspections were complete, Mitsubishi’s senior engineering manager Jim Kadiaka notified Alternate Energy founder Bruce Ekimura that, “Alternate Energy has demonstrated a high level of technical proficiency and overall professionalism. Mechanical, electrical and all other aspects of your company’s projects met or exceeded industry standards and safety requirements.

Mitsubishi has just launched its new MLE 260 series modules, with high-power output, high reliability and Mitsubishi’s renowned quality. At this time, Alternate Energy — a Mitsubishi Elite Dealer — is the only PV provider in the U.S. to offer these new panels.

In other news

Many customers were concerned by recent reports about changes to the law regarding the state’s solar tax credits. Some PV providers are even suing the state to keep laws unchanged.

A 30 percent Federal tax credit remains in effect, and some form of tax credit from the state will remain. With panel technology and installation techniques improving all the time, the bottom line is that going solar is still a smart, and ultimately money-saving, investment for Hawaii families and businesses.
