A new kitchen in time for the holidays may seem like an impossible dream with the year more than half gone. However, it could be an achievable goal.

“Even with an August start, our design/build team could have a kitchen, and a bath as well, remodeled and ready for Thanksgiving,” said Tim Foxen, Homeworks Construction project coordinator.

Foxen advised that homeowners hoping to do their holiday entertaining with a new kitchen should start the planning process now by contacting him or any of the Homeworks project coordinators to assess the condition of the current kitchen and work out a remodeling budget.

“A basic remodel usually involves replacing cabinets, countertops and appliances. What’s important here is to make selections as soon as possible to be sure everything is available when we actually start removal and replacement.

“We can meet in our showroom and show clients quality cabinet lines in a variety of styles and finishes with top-grade hardware. Prices vary, but we always try to fulfill the client’s wishes at the best possible price. There are numerous styles of countertops ranging from quartz to laminates, which are attractive and durable and require less maintenance than granite. For appliances, we can make recommendations or accompany the client to our suppliers’ showrooms.”

Foxen noted that structural work such as moving walls to open up a closed-up kitchen or constructing an island can increase the time needed to complete the project.
