As Hawaii residents prepare to celebrate the United States’ independence, now is the time for home owners to strive for energy independence, especially since the state’s largest solar company RevoluSun is offering $500 off solar installations for those who sign contracts in July. In addition, there are multiple opportunities for Hawaii homeowners to learn more about solar, join in a day of fun during the RevoluSun-Surfrider Foundation Sandy Beach clean up, or just celebrate our nation’s independence with the RevoluSun team.

“As a locally owned company, RevoluSun is committed to helping Hawaii become a cleaner, smarter place to live — through beach cleanups, community education, or just supporting our various community groups through sponsorships,” said Eric Carlson, RevoluSun principal. “We look forward to introducing more Hawaii homeowners to solar energy with a variety of fun community events this July. In addition, anyone who wants a free bumper sticker can visit one of our open houses or our web page to show your support of a cleaner, smarter Hawaii.”

Hawaii residents can learn more about renewable energy or just help clean up our state at one of the following events:

July 4 – Kailua Fourth of July Parade, 10 a.m.

It will be hard to miss more than 50 orange hard hats as the RevoluSun team and friends walk during the 65th annual Kailua Fourth of July parade! The fun begins at 10 a.m. traveling south along Kainalu Drive from Palapu Street to Kailua Intermediate School. Also making a special appearance will be local cheer squads, the RevoluSun Segway Guys, and a variety of RevoluSun vehicles. Meanwhile, the RevoluSun walkers will hand out “cleaner, smarter” bumper stickers. Also joining RevoluSun will be Blue Planet Foundation with its Tesla electric vehicle and Kanu Hawaii, two organizations committed to creating a more sustainable Hawaii.

July 16 – Sandy Beach Cleanup hosted by RevoluSun and Surfrider Foundation, 10 a.m. to noon

For the second straight year, RevoluSun is partnering with the Surfrider Foundation to invite the public to help clean up Sandy Beach. Slap on some sunscreen and join us to beautify Sandy Beach during the two-hour cleanup. At noon, RevoluSun will host a free barbecue for all participants. In addition, everyone who helps out will receive a free RevoluSun T-shirt and those who turn in a bag of trash gets a wristband good for discounts for the after-party at Wahoo’s Kahala at 6 p.m. that evening.
