At Hawaii’s Interior Design Center, we understand that the economy has limited how far many of us are willing to open our wallets these days, for both everyday necessities and life’s luxuries. With people prioritizing their budgets, options like revamping our home decor are being put on hold. But there are a few ways we can help you quickly update your home without spending too much time or money. Here at Hawaii’s Interior Design Center, we call it “REFRESH.”
In many cases taking time to enjoy life and the space you call home is overlooked by life rushing past us at lightning speed. Reviving your room without completely making it over might be just what you need to feel refreshed and enjoy your space. Along with tips for you to do on your own, we offer you many quick affordable ways to refresh.
Revitalize, Rejuvenate, Rearrange, Reorganize, Recover and Revive
Some you can do on your own and some we can help you with, but any or all will make your space a brighter, refreshed place to live, love and laugh every day.
Revitalize with new fixtures or lighting
New lighting can make a world of difference in your space and awaken beautiful angles, artwork or colors throughout your room. Electrical fixtures to match the style you create give a feeling of finish to your space. A few new handles and knobs will spruce up old cabinets, furniture, and even pantry doors. Match modern hardware with traditional cabinets for an unexpected fresh look. Adding new hardware in your kitchen and bathroom can make such a difference while cooking for your family or unwinding at the end of a hard day. Backsplashes or new counter-tops also will make a difference in the overall feel and, in some cases, in the ease of cleaning.
Rejuvenate with new paint
No matter how much you clean those walls they still feel dull and look a little dirty. You will be surprised how much a new coat of white or neutral paint can brighten up a room and make it feel clean. Changing out your baseboards assists the paint in making the room seem much brighter and cleaner. Adding a new door to a room can create a fresh, new feeling.
To add cheer, warmth and happiness to your room, let us add pops of color with an accent wall or wallpaper. When you think of wallpaper don’t think of the outof-date patterns we see all too much of. Let us show you the many current, cutting-edge colors, patterns and textures we carry at Hawaii’s Interior Design Center.
On your own you can bring the room together with a vibrant bouquet of fresh flowers, a bowl of bright fruit, or bold new throw pillows.
Rearrange your accessories
Swap lamps, end tables, artwork, rugs and knick-knacks between rooms for a new look. Move your furniture around for a different configuration that sets up the room’s energy in a different way.
Reorganize with shelving and cabinets
We have a wide variety of cabinets and accessories. We are confident that you will find something that suits your taste and budget. New cabinets can be set up for your specific needs, helping with organization and functionality of any room. Hang shelves to display framed photos, colorful vases and special keep-sakes.
Recover chair cushions
Beautify old side chairs with gorgeous fabric. Simply remove the cushion from the frame, spread new fabric over the cushion, turn over, and use a staple gun to secure it in place.
Revive your floors.
Let us help you determine what the best option is for you to revive your floors. Installing beautiful hardwood, engineered or laminate floors can make a huge impact on the overall feeling of your space. Sanding and refinishing your existing wood floors takes on average two to three days for about 500 square feet and will rejuvenate your home’s appearance. Choosing tile for your flooring opens up your space to so many options — from natural stone to beaming porcelain. Tile is so versatile inside and out. Replacing old carpet with an upgraded, better quality carpet also helps your space in so many ways.
