Island Stone Center recently opened its doors in Honolulu, catering to local stone fabricators and homeowners who have stone-care maintenance needs. Island Stone Center is a one-of-a-kind store that sells fabrication products and maintenance supplies for natural stone such as granite, marble, travertine, concrete and engineered stone surfaces.

The company stocks several different types of power tools common in the fabrication trade. These tools include laser-guided tile cutters, electric and pneumatic wet polishers and variable speed grinders. The company also carries a wide variety of stone fabrication products such as diamond pads, which are used for polishing granite and engineered stone edges; diamond blades, which are great for cutting and grinding; stone epoxy, used for setting seams; core bits, used for drilling faucet holes; and various types of safety equipment. All these products and many more are available in stock and at affordable prices.

If you are a “handy” homeowner and want to try your own granite installation, Island Stone Center also offers a wide variety of how-to DVDs and starter kits to help you get going on that home remodeling project.

The dedicated and knowledgeable staff at Island Stone Center has years of experience in the natural stone business. Owner Cathy Uda has been in the stone industry for 26 years, working along with stone fabrication and natural stone sales. Her goal has always been to offer Hawaii’s stone fabricators a larger variety of in-stock fabrication supplies at affordable prices.

General manager Selena Willard has worked with Uda in the natural stone industry since 2002. Together, they make a great team by bringing in what is needed and desired by Hawaii’s local fabricators — and all at reasonable prices.
