Custom home for multi-generational household

Homeworks Construction has completed a new custom home for the owners of a 5,076-square-foot lot in Palolo Valley, previously the site of a home the family occupied for decades. Homeworks demolished the home in July 2017 and the family is now moving into their new home, just eight months later.

With 3,664 square feet including garage and lanai, five bedrooms and three baths, the new two-story home more than doubles the size of the original structure and is designed for multi-generational living. The six-person household includes the original owners, two siblings and a third generation.

“The owners worked closely with Homeworks designers and specification specialists to achieve a new custom residence with a layout that would meet the needs of all household members, while providing privacy,” said Homeworks sales coordinator Kim Green. “The stylish and functional kitchen is the work of Homeworks award-winning kitchen designer Sean Bradshaw. Three of the five bedrooms and two of the baths are on the 1,313-square-foot upper level, and two bedrooms and one bath are downstairs. Also on the 1,590-square-foot lower level are the main living and dining areas, a lanai, laundry, and workshop/utility area connected to the garage. The entire layout is designed for maximum convenience and accessibility.”

Green added that the home is equipped with photovoltaic, solar water heating and security systems.

‘BUILD NEW OR REDO’ SEMINAR

Homeworks Construction sales coordinator Kim Green will host a “Build New Or ReDo” free seminar at the Homeworks showroom Tuesday, March 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. The featured topic will be “Designing, building and financing an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU).” The latest guidelines will be reviewed, and attendees will have an opportunity to engage in one-on-one discussions with the speakers after the formal presentations.
