Homeowner Marlene Morioka shared her experience of having S. Tanaka Construction complete her family’s home renovation:

“I purchased my home in Kaimuki in 2001 as a place for myself and my three daughters. It was a four-bedroom, three-bath home on a 3,750-square-foot lot, which suited us perfectly.

“As the years passed, my daughters grew up and slowly moved out, leaving me with a home too big for just myself.

“In 2016, we decided to consider turning the home into an ohana dwelling, so my eldest daughter and her fiance would have a place to live. We reached out to a few contractors, and from the start, S. Tanaka Construction was the most responsive and professional.

“S. Tanaka Construction worked with us on designing a home that became a two-bedroom, two-bath for myself downstairs and a three-bedroom, two-bath for my daughter’s family upstairs. S. Tanaka Construction used CAD (computer-aided design) software, so we were able to see a 3-D rendering of the house, which helped us visualize our future home. The team worked with us on our selections, and (they) were very knowledgeable on the various materials.

“During the building process, S. Tanaka Construction’s staff was very communicative, and any problems they faced were met with quick resolutions. We especially appreciated that S. Tanaka Construction held all their sub-contractors to a very high standard, and it can be seen in their quality of workmanship. Our new home is beautiful, and we often joke that it looks like it should be in a magazine.

“We have already recommended them to a few of our family friends and each of them has had the same great experience as we have.”
