Environ Control Inc. began in 1986 with my dad, Robert “Bob” Koide. We honor God for His blessings and success over the past 30 years. Upon receiving the 2004 BBB Torch Award, Bob said, “It’s not about how we treat the problem, it’s about how we treat people.”

We believe: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” (Matthew 7:12)

Over the past three decades, Environ Control, along with the pest control industry, has changed. In the past, soil treatment for ground termite control involved applying 100-plus gallons of termiticide beneath and around structures. When the Sentricon System was launched in Hawaii in 1995, we began using grams of termiticide, rather than gallons, to eliminate entire termite colonies. Apparently, ground termite activity has since decreased dramatically on Oahu.

We have customers who started with us more than 20 years ago, and now some of their children are our customers. We appreciate all of our customers and strive to exceed their expectations.

Using Integrated Pest Management (IPM), we went from routinely spraying chemicals to investigating, diagnosing, and prescribing both chemical and non-chemical solutions to control pests.

We used to apply 15-plus gallons of pesticide outside a home to control ants, roaches, and other invasive pests. Now, we typically use less than 3 gallons. For inside of a home, rather than spraying the whole house, we now treat cracks, crevices, holes, or voids with dust, aerosol, and bait products. We also use non-chemical methods such as monitoring devices, traps, caulking, screens, vacuum, and more.

Products and tools we use are the result of millions of dollars invested in research and development. Manufacturers and suppliers then provide the essential education and training for our company and our industry. Tools we use include LED flashlights, UV lamps, hand-held computers, “smart” devices, light scope, moisture meter, and detection equipment, including the TermaTrac termite detector.

Environ Control’s most important asset is its employees.
