Hawaii artist and owner of Designs Reimagined LLC, Brad Kimo Heinicke, wants you to bring in the outdoors. He handcrafts preserved moss and fern wall art, marrying the luscious greens of the rainforest with beach and desert fl ora, then invites them into your home spaces. Heinicke also offers custom, affordable interior scaping for patios, lanais and atriums and closely works with homeowners to create interior gardens of intimate, natural beauty. His preserved wall art, interior garden spaces and live-plant vertical “green wall” designs also are perfect for commercial spaces such as The Willows Restaurant in Moiliili and the lounge at Park Lane Ala Moana.
Born and raised on Oahu, Heinicke has lived away from home for many years. He has worked in San Diego, California for Nature Company and Phoenix, Arizona for Plant Solutions, and has built a successful reputation with 30 years of experience in plant and fl oral design, visual merchandising, and interior and exterior scaping. Heinicke’s award-winning designs have been featured in Arizona Foothills and Phoenix Home and Garden magazines, and design awards include People’s Choice Award at Phoenix Art Museum’s annual Arts & Flowers exposition. Locally, he took first place at the 2015 Hawaii Lodging Hospitality & Foodservice Expo held at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu.
Working from his home studio in Mililani, Heinicke transforms natural ferns, moss, driftwood, air plants and other materials into refi ned works of art that are easy to maintain, and, because they are preserved, they will last for years. The designer is available for maintenance of custom interior spaces, including potted live plants, indoor garden areas and living wall-plant installations, as well as consultation for clients needing assistance.
