The holiday season is in full swing, and I truly feel that this is the best time of the year. There are few occasions that we all make time for baking cookies, catching up with friends and, of course, for going shopping. Each year, my family and I share wish lists, which makes gifting much more streamlined. This time, I’ve decided to hone in on things that will make life easier.

Under-the-sink cabinet organizer

Putting a little bit of time into organization around the home can save a whole bunch of time in the days that follow. An under-the-sink cabinet organizer, like the one I found at local store Simply Organized, incorporates expandable shelving with movable panels. This allows you to wrap the storage around pipes, while also letting you take full advantage of the vertical space under the sink that often gets overlooked.

Front-loading washing machine

I have been blessed with a short stature, which has posed a problem with our top loader. When I have to transfer clothes to the dryer, I have to sit on top of the dryer and reach in, or use a step stool. A front-loader would help eliminate this problem, and could also allow me to fit much more inside each load.

Motion-sensing faucet

I’m a bit of a germaphobe. So when I wash my hands in public, I am always pleased to see hands-free, motion-sensing faucets. Installing one in the home not only appeals to my need to cut down on germs, but also helps to save water.

Outdoor bench with hidden storage

Our lanai floor has become home to about 10 pairs of slippers and running shoes. Believe it or not, my husband and I use all these pairs of footwear regularly. An outdoor bench will not only give us a place to sit while we lace up, but it can also help to cut down on clutter.
